About your team

Comprising forty-five nice colleagues worldwide, our Finance Department operates across two main offices in Utrecht (NL) and Londerzeel (BE). With a strong focus on business excellence and continuous improvement, we are dedicated to enhancing value across the entire company. As we transition into a unified Finance team, integrating various backgrounds and legacy systems, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our cohesive future.

About your role

As the Business Controller you will provide valuable reports and insights into the business to support operational and strategic decision-making. Working from our office in Londerzeel (BE) you will be responsible for preparing, developing, and analyzing management accounting information, delivering high-quality reports providing insights into key business drivers, and interpreting results to identify trends proactively. You will work closely with various stakeholders both at our main and with colleagues from the business in different countries! Certis Belchim has many Business Units, mainly in Europe (25+), headed by a Country Manager. The Business Controllers support the Country and Regional Managers on several aspects.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Be a sparring partner for the Business Unit Management Teams
  • Calculation of scenarios and business cases and working capital impact for each decision
  • Initiate, monitor, and improve KPI’s like DSO & Stock Risks
  • Perform controls on the (local) sales and financial recognition of commercial transactions
  • Be a linking pin between Business Unit and Global Finance department
  • Take ownership of the planning and control cycle for the Business Units with respect to the topline (sales, cost of sales and margin)
  • Conduct operating Expenses 5-year budget & monthly Last Estimate (‘LE’);
  • Assessment of slow moving and obsolete stock LE and actions
  • Collaborate within Business Control team (6+ colleagues) to define and improve best practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by being committed to actively pursuing and implementing strategies for refining the financial reporting process, elevating data accuracy, and maximising operational efficiency.
  • Perform monthly internal control on Business Units and Finance processes.
  • Ensure detailed analysis of the figures and ensure correct and complete processing of the number for e.g., the Head of Finance and Country Managers, by using the standards for the consolidation process
  • Function as the first point of contact for the group and local auditors with respect to the topline (sales, cost of sales and margin).

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business or Economics
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience as a Financial or Business Controller
  • Proven experience with tools, techniques, processes, and systems in the control arena; excellent command of MS Office applications, knowledge of ERP systems (MS D365) and Lucanet is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and fluent in English
  • Willing to work in an international organization and communicate with all levels
  • Office role, willing to work from our office in Londerzeel (BE) and to travel as required, at least 2 days a month to Malmo (Sweden) and once a quarter to Utrecht (NL)
  • Have a good environmental awareness and result and improvement orientated
  • You have some PowerBI experience and know how to discuss with the country-, sales- and regional leads
  • You see it as an opportunity to be part of the further development of the and to add value from your experience.
  • With both an eye for detail and the ability to oversee the bigger picture, bridging the gap in terms of stakeholder management between HQ and the business. You proactively look for relevant information to understand the numbers in depth.
