After gaining my baccalauréat, I took a degree in general biology, I then went on to do a Master in marine biotechnology, but motivated by my interest in plants, which I had already developed by working on a farm near my parents’ home I choose to reorient. I found a professional Bachelor focusing on plant health, agroecology and crop management fitting my expectations. My six-month internship at Fronton in 2022 was a key step, where I deepened my skills in plant experimentation.

After this placement, I returned to Brittany, but I was disappointed by the local opportunities, particularly because of the lesser plant diversity compared to Fronton. It was the richness of the crops and the dynamic environment of Fronton that drew me back. Thanks to my contacts, I was able to rejoin the Certis Belchim team for a temporary contract from January to September, and it then turned into a permanent contract.

The work at Fronton varies according to the season, but most of it is done outdoors, with rigorous field trials: implementation, treatments, notations. In winter, we prepare for the following season with materiel maintenance, reports and protocols preparation and even some vine pruning. There’s an excellent atmosphere in the team, everyone is passionate about what they do and there’s always a friendly atmosphere.

What surprised me most was the opportunity to represent the site at trial field days – a unique and rewarding experience. My favourite part, however, is being out in the field, in the open air, observing trials, pests progression. The team is guided by a mentality of rigor and quality, which makes all the difference to our day-to-day work.

My role is to conduct early assessments trials, meaning the first steps in the field of new products. This work allows me to get a glimpse of the company’s future, and I am happy to see that many of the products I test are biorational solutions.
