Meet your future colleagues

“I’ve learned that while expert knowledge is important, building trust and maintaining honest, long-term relationships with customers is far more valuable.”

Alexander Bay, Sales Representative, Germany

From a young age, I was always fascinated by plants, and it was clear to me, that I wanted to work with plants. Although I initially pursued a career in IT, I quickly realised my true passion lay elsewhere. This led me to switch to agricultural science, where I completed my bachelor’s degree and later a master’s in plant protection. My journey began as a Field Technician, a role that taught me that nothing can replace the knowledge acquired in the field.

After two years, I transitioned into a sales role. A colleague introduced me to Certis Belchim, and that opportunity has brought me to where I am today. What I enjoy most about working with Certis Belchim is the incredible diversity of the work and the freedom I have to manage my own day. While some tasks repeat seasonally, the ever-changing weather conditions and evolving regulations keep things dynamic and interesting. I spend a lot of time in the field, but my team is always just a phone call away, creating a supportive environment. This blend of independence and teamwork makes every day rewarding.

My main responsibility is to help customers when they face issues. I’ve learned that while expert knowledge is important, building trust and maintaining honest, long-term relationships with customers is far more valuable. Our customers see us as partners, not just a company selling products, and that makes all the difference.

For anyone thinking of joining Certis Belchim, my advice is to truly believe in the future of plant protection and be open to connecting with people. You’ll bring your expertise and personality to the table, and in return, you’ll gain trust, great experiences, and a strong work-life balance.

“Each day is different, full of new challenges and opportunities. I enjoy working with a variety of people, solving problems, and always aiming to excel.”

Peter Bodo, Sales Manager, Hungary

I started my career working for a grower, where I first encountered challenges in the agricultural sector. As a garden engineer, I felt driven to solve these issues, which led me to pursue a two-year course in Plant Crop Protection. Afterward, I joined a company in the crop protection field to expand my expertise. Eventually, I transitioned to Certis Belchim 12 years ago. I began as a Technical Support Advisor, moved on to Regional Manager, and now serve as Sales Manager.

I’m a dynamic person who always strives for excellence.  My typical day is diverse, involving a mix of meetings with colleagues, managing both B2B and B2C relationships. This includes visiting growers, distributors, and large farmers. I focus on building strong client relationships while driving revenue.

Each day is different, full of new challenges and opportunities. I enjoy working with a variety of people, solving problems, and always aiming to excel. I’ve learned patience and continuously work on improving my communication skills to address everyday challenges effectively. What I particularly like at Certis Belchim is that the company offers a supportive and stimulating environment that allows me to focus on delivering my best work.

The company mindset is aligned with my priorities: family always comes first, followed by hobbies to recharge and clear my mind, and then work, which I balance with the other aspects of my life.

“This is a great opportunity Certis Belchim offers: you are free to express yourself and grow

Alberto Santori, Crop manager vegetables, Italy

I grew up on a farm surrounded by crops, and it remains a key part of my identity—as a farmer, crop specialist, and researcher. I started my career in plant protection in the public sector, at the Plant Pathology Center in Rome, where I worked for 15 years.
In 2012, I was offered a position by the Italian Country Manager to join the company, and I accepted, despite becoming an official public servant just a year prior.
At the company, I spent 10 years in R&D, and two years ago, I transitioned to the Marketing Department as Crop Manager. Before Certis Belchim, my background was entirely in scientific research, but thanks to a colleague, I had the chance to explore marketing. With full support from my country manager and colleagues, I made the leap. This is a great opportunity Certis Belchim offers: you’re free to express yourself and grow.
I chose challenge over security, and for me, it was a dream come true. Despite the company’s growth, the close-knit, familiar atmosphere remains. We even call or have family dinners with our managers, and the friendships I’ve built with my Italian colleagues make us feel like we’re the heart of the company. At Certis Belchim, we may not all support the same football team, but we always support each other.

Feeding the world starts with a seed of innovation, nurtured by teamwork, a sense of modesty, and a drive to make a difference every day.

David Rubio, Portfolio Manager, Spain

I live in an agricultural area in Murcia, Spain, where agriculture is deeply rooted in my family and community. After completing my studies in agronomy, I began my career with a commercial company before joining Certis Belchim, a well-respected name in the market. At Certis Belchim, we focus on addressing key challenges that our growers and clients face through integrated programs that combine our conventional specialties and our biorationals product, with the aim of meeting our costumer´s need. Our mission is simple yet ambitious: to help feed the world.

The agricultural sector is constantly evolving, with increasing emphasis on research and innovation. We export plant materials, which aligns well with Spain’s needs. However, staying competitive, especially in Spain where we hold a leading position, remains a challenge, as more competitors focus on similar goals. What sets us apart is our commitment to science and maintaining integrity in our business practices.

What I love most about my job is the variety it offers. My work is divided into different types of days: visiting clients and fields, working in the office for meetings and material prep, or working from home or in the field in the afternoons. Market research is also a key aspect of what I do. I’m fortunate to work with a passionate, highly technical, and supportive team that encourages each other to excel. I enjoy the responsibility I have, and the sense of teamwork boosts our overall performance.

When colleagues reach out to me, it reflects the trust and shared goals we have. My main responsibilities include defining the strategy for my product portfolio, positioning products in the market, and adding value through biorational solutions. I also contribute to the global vegetable team.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned are about navigating the industry’s complexity and competitiveness and distinguishing myself technically in agronomy. I’ve also developed strong interpersonal skills to handle diverse personalities. My advice to anyone joining the company: maintain a positive attitude, be a great team player, stay humble, and give your best effort every day.
